Welcome to Art Patrol. A group against art thievary.

We are NOT deviant art personel. We’re just Deviants that are tierd of seeing stolen art.

The following count as theivary,

Tracing a pose and saying it’s totally yours.
Copying a pose and saying it’s totally yours. (We aren’t talking about looking at a pose
for refrence and forgetting to mention, we’re talking about taking a pose and knowingly
claiming it as yours)
Taking art (example: from an art book or site. there are more but these are only examples)
and claiming it as yours.


Rules to join:

You can not be an art theif. If you steal art you shouldn’t even be on Deviant art.

You must be against people stealing art.

You must put a link or our icon in your journal or signature. (Please inform us if you
rotate icons) In order to put in our icon: :icon art-patrol: without the space. the link is
done :dev art-patrol:

No flaming. Not even art thieves. Handle things in a respectful manner. No matter how
badly you want to blow up at someone.

If you find stolen artwork please inform us (After informing dev) so that we can check it
out for ourselves.


The perpouse of this group:

To band together against art theives. If you find an art thief and are sure about it being
stolen then report the person! Once again we are not deviant art personel. Just normal
deviants that can’t stand theivary!

We’ll list victories in the ‘battle feild.’ We’ll spread the word when we find an art theif and
things of the like.

Quting an update from realier today (Oct 10 2004)

We here by issue an apoligy for false information. the suspected deviation [link] is absolutly NOT stolen. It was suspected to be but we were mis informed. Though she did steal she removed the pictures. She will be romoved from the examples next update. Once again we're sorry for the misunderstanding and we're working on punishing the prankster that misinformed us. (We know they are a prankster from previous happenings with other clubs moderated by Kat )"

Exsplanation: We (Or rather Kat) Had been sent a screen shot of both the picture in the gallery and the actual deviation, sadly we didn't check the deviation it's self till earlier this afternoon. We found out the scren shot sent to kat was an edited screen shot. The person that sent it is a known prankster who seems to have a grudge against all of kat's clubs (They have sent Kat emails about various things) if not Kat herself. That is how we know it's a prankster.


The rant:

Prank us and we'll report you to A. DA or B. The email provider.

The following are pranks:
1, Sending false screen shots
2, sending edited screen shots
3, sending in false information on perpose.


We had that happen recently as some know (Any that rea the oct 10 2004 entry) Not only does it discredit us it points a guilty finger at most likly innocent artists. Mind you even if the info is sent in we'll no longer fall prey to screen shots (See the below for info on our 'screening prosess.')


Our new way of handleing things:

1. We get a report.
2. we investigate it PERSONALLY.
3a. If it's proven true we post the info in an update.
3b. If false we send a messageback to the person informing them it was not stolen.
4. (Pertaining to 3a) We tell Devwhats happening (Actually we do that before we tell the group)
5. We see how ting turn out from there.
